We are happy to inform you that the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has once again granted CIT University the AUTONOMOUS STATUS for the period June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2021.
The AUTONOMOUS STATUS is the HIGHEST HONOR that an academic institution earns after the evaluation of its program of excellence and institutional quality. Having been granted the autonomous status, CIT University enjoys a number of benefits and privileges cited in CMO 19, s. 2016 which include, among others, the following:
1. Exemption from the issuance of Special Order for their graduates
2. Exemption from regular monitoring and evaluation by CHED
3. Priority in the grants of subsidies and other financial incentives/assistance from CHED whenever funds are available
4. Authority to grant honorary degrees to deserving individuals in line with the existing provisions of CHED issuance on conferment of honorary degrees
5. Privilege to offer new programs in the undergraduate and graduate levels without securing permit/authority from CHED except for programs under moratorium.
